pet portraits sudbury artist

I guess I found out in Grade 1 what I was supposed to be doing with my life. I love animals and when there was an art contest I did a painting titled “Down At The Farm.” I won first prize. Even though I always drew, it didn’t really click until I was in my early 20’s. A graduate of a graphic design program, I was a junior at a design firm living on a small budget. Meanwhile my apartment desperately needed some decorating. I decided to attempt a pen and ink drawing of two puffins. Afterwards, people who came by to visit, were requesting drawings and paintings for themselves and it grew from there.

And now, after many years as a graphic designer, illustrator and cartoonist for Campeau Corporation, Interact Communications, Northern Life newspaper and Science North, I am a full-time pet portrait artist and freelance illustrator/designer. (Some of my ongoing design and illustration clients include Science North, Sudbury Regional Hospital, Canadian Wildlife Federation, Environment Canada and Scholastic Canada).

I live in Sudbury, Canada with my husband and daughter. My husband and I have collaborated on other projects as well, including "Coltoons", editorial cartoons that were published in newspapers across Canada, including Northern Life in Sudbury, The Toronto Star and The Victoria Times/Colonist. We won several awards in North America.

Besides pet portraits I am also available for wildlife illustration, concept drawing for exhibit spaces, cartoon characters and graphic design. Please check out my online galleries and contact me for quotes and further information.
